~~HAPPY 4TH OF JULY~~

Mike, Jake and Will started the 4th of July with a hike up Mount Olympus.  This was Will's first time so it was a pretty big deal for him.  They did it in just over 3 hours.  Pretty impressive!  When they got home we went to Judy and Roger's where we had a pizza/swim party.  It was a great afternoon spending time with the Dean's! We ended the day with Sadie and some of her buddies lighting sparklers, a McDonalds midnight run and sleepover :) HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 

~~PARK CITY~~

We road the Crescent chairlift at Park City last Sunday.  The idea was to ride the lift up and explore at the top and then ride the chairlift back down.  Well when we were riding up Sadie and I were behind Will, Mike and Jake and I saw a yellow tassel fall from their chair.  I yelled and said "Hey what did you guys drop?".  They said "Nothing!"  Until Jake looked in his pockets and realized he had dropped his season pass.  Ooops!!! So change of plans we decided to walk down the lift (2.5 miles) so Jake could retrieve his pass.  It was fun exploring and walking down what we are used to skiing down.  It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! :)

 

 

 

 

~~FACELIFT~~

It was time to give the front of our house a facelift!  Lucky for me Mike is super handy so when I suggested we paint the garage and front door white from black, he was all over it!  He did an awesome job too!  I tell you Mike can pretty much do anything!!! Just one of the many things I love about him! :)

 

 

~~ESPECIALLY FOR YOUTH aka EFY~~

Will had a lot of fun at EFY last week.  They went to the Provo campus and he went with Luke Adair one of his buddies from our ward.  Last year Austin Little had asked Will to go and he didn't really want to.  It is amazing how a year can change the maturity of a person.  When Luke asked Will in the spring to go he wanted to because he was ready this year to go and he wasn't last year.   He said it was a lot more fun then he had expected.  He said he felt the spirit and even bore his testimony to the group the last day.  Way to go Will!  We love you and missed you while you were gone!!!

 

 

 

~~ONE YEAR DOWN~~

Rachel has been out one year now!  Only six months to go!! YAY!!! I miss her so much but we seriously we couldn't be more proud of her!  Reading her emails every Monday is just what I need for my weekly boost.  She has the most positive attitude and is cherishing every minute she is in Canada. She has taught me so much about just finding the joys in everything and to absolutely love serving.  What a great example she is to all of us!  Way to go Hermana Dean! Only 6 more Fast Sundays!:)  

~~DISCRETE RACE DEER VALLEY~~

Jake ran in the 1st of 3 Discrete races this summer.  This one was at Deer Valley.  It was 9 miles.  He took 3rd place in the expert division.  He came in 16th out of 235.  So awesome!! When he came in at the finish the guy putting the medal over his neck said what you must be 22?  He said no I'm 17. WOW!  They were quite impressed with how fast Jake is for his age! :)  He won some prizes for taking 3rd.  He was also drawn for the raffle prize and won a hydrated under armor water pack, trail running shoes and shirt.  Seriously how lucky is he?  Definitely takes after his dad!  His buddies Ethan and Ezra ran too so it was fun for Jake to have someone go up there with.  It sure is nice watching him finish these races.  It's a great excuse to get us up in the beautiful mountains! :)
