Has SPRING really SPRUNG?

I think the weather is still deciding if it wants to be spring or winter. Some days it is warm and some days it is cold. What the heck? Today there is...SNOW...seriously mother nature...BRRRRR. Sadie had her kindergarten field trip this morning to the zoo. She left in her snow coat, gloves, hat and boots. CRAZY WEATHER!!!

The scene in our front yard this morning :(
Regardless to what the weather does...spring sports have begun.

An ANNIVERSARY Getaway =)

April 19th Mike and I celebrated our "17th" anniversary. We were able to take a night and a day off and go up to The Canyons where we stayed at the Westgate Park City Resort. It was such a nice place and fun to spend some time together. We enjoyed great food and had so much fun golfing the next day. We had planned on going to a movie and shopping the next day but the weather was too nice to be inside. Thanks to my sister Amy for letting all the kids have a sleepover and Kristine for helping out with Sadie after school. I can't believe it has been "17" years and can't wait to celebrate MANY, MANY more.
I LOVE YOU BABE.We decided since we hadn't golfed for awhile we'd hit some buckets of balls at the driving range. The funniest thing happened when Mike hit a ball his golf club end broke and flew with the ball. I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. It was one of those things that happens that you keep thinking about and laugh at throughout the day. Mike was so shocked and his reaction was what made it so funny =) The damage to his club =)Fun times riding around in the cart.

SALT LAKE CITY MARATHON

Mike and his brother John ran in the Salt Lake Marathon yesterday. It was fun to get to see them run through Holladay and a few other spots along the way. They both felt the course was harder than the St. George Marathon so their times were a lot slower. Mike is just glad to be done so now he says he is going to ride his bike this spring and summer. It is always very impressive to see all those people that run and finish a marathon.

This is a sign that John's wife Tonya made for the boys.
The first spot we saw them was mile "9" right in front of Oly High.

JohnMikeThe next spot was mile "14" on Vanwinkle.

JohnMikeI got out and ran with Mike for 3 miles from mile 17-20 along the 500 East stretch.THE FINISH

John - 3:47
Mike - 3:56
All done....YAHOO...good job guys!!!

To KINDERGARTEN and BEYOND

Sadie's end of year kindergarten program was so cute and full of fun songs. She did such a great job and you can tell she really loves to perform. She was all smiles, smiles, smiles. Good job Sadie....we can't believe you are going to be a "BIG" first grader next year.

Sadie has really loved Miss Baldwin and can't wait to be in school "ALL" day and get to eat lunch with her friends next year. Only "6" more weeks of school for Sadie...CRAZY how time is flying.

ROCKET DERBY and SPACE EXPLORATION

It was a week of rockets for the Dean boys. Will had his rocket derby with his cub scout group and Jake finished his space exploration merit badge with the boy scouts.

Will had a lot of fun painting and sanding his rocket with Mike. Anytime he gets to spend with Mike he loves. He chose to paint it green and black. His rocket actually didn't do too bad.
It was fun watching the rockets race in the church.

Will and LoganMike and Jeff Davies have been the scout leaders for our ward for almost 3 years now. They took the boys camping last weekend to the west desert where they were able to let off their rockets they have been working on with the space exploration merit badge. Jake is lucky since he is 11 he gets to tag along with the boy scouts because Mike is there (if you are 11 in our ward you can go on camps as long as your dad comes along). They had a great time watching their rockets go off.

Sadie's Playgroup Friends

I hosted my last playgroup I have scheduled with Sadie and "9" of her friends. It has been so fun these past two years watching these girls become friends. Sadie is so lucky to have such a great group of girls and boys in our neighborhood that she gets to go to school, church, dance, soccer and play with. Since there are "10" girls in the group it sure is chaotic when it is your turn but so great that your turn only comes every 10 weeks. We had a great time making pizzas, flower bouquets, Rachel's scavenger hunt and jumping on the tramp. We are in for some fun years a head with this group of girls...and I am sure a little drama too =)
