It isn't very often that Mike has business in Provo for work but last week Ben sent him there to fix something in the Provo Cancer center office. Since he was so close to the MTC he thought I should buy Rachel's district a treat. So Krispy Kreme Doughnuts were his treat of choice. :) He bought a dozen and then took them to a delivery service that charge $3 to deliver a package to the MTC. We know when she is in Canada it won't be as easy to send her treats so I am glad we can do it on occasion while she is in Provo. Mike is a GOOD dad! He is always thinking of things we can send her. He writes her a few times a week with the Dear Elder website! :)

~~HERMANA DEAN~~
It has almost been 1 week since Rachel went to the MTC. We have gotten 2 short emails and a letter in the mail. Tomorrow is her P-day so we are anxious to hear all about her experiences she has had this last week. The day after she got there I got an email from Lexi Smith one of her Utah State buddies telling me she saw Rachel and she was doing great. She sent us a pic too. Made my mamma heart happy! :)
Our 1st letter! :)
~~CAMP TRACY~~
Sadie went up to Tracy Wigwam with the 11 year activity day girls in our ward. I was lucky enough to chaperone one of the days. These girls are so great! They have so much fun together and they all get along so well. I can't wait until they all come into YW!!!
~~GOOD LUCK HERMANA DEAN~~
Rachel left last Wednesday for the MTC in Provo. She will be there for 6 weeks and then its off to Calgary! Since the goodbye is so quick at the MTC we decided to stop at the temple and take some pics. This was such a hard goodbye! :( We knew this day would come but oh my word saying goodbye for 18 months was super hard. It was so nice when we arrived at the MTC the Elder that came to get Rachel's luggage was a friend she met in Tonga, Richie Bassett. This made Rachel so happy. It was a sweet tender mercy she was praying for to see just one familiar face! :) Good luck Hermana Dean! We will miss you but are so glad for your decision to serve a mission! Calgary sure is lucky!!! :)
~~CALGARY HERE SHE COMES~~
Rachel was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Tuesday, June 30th. It was a very spiritual night and I am so grateful for the Love and support from our parents, Bishop Warner, President Buie, President Bailey, Mike and our kids! After President Buie gave Rachel her blessing we were able to go around the room and everyone shared their testimony, thoughts and love for Rachel! It was so awesome to hear the sweet things and testimonies from all the people there! You could definitely feel the love!!! We have been waiting for almost 5 months since she opened her mission call for the day that Rachel would leave and become a missionary! She has the STRONGEST testimony of anyone I know! She has read the book of mormon at least 6 times. She makes me want to be a better person! She said in her farewell talk that she likes being known as Jake Dean's sister. I told her it is an honor to be known as Rachel Dean's mom. She is such an example to so many people and I know she will do such great things in Calgary! I hope they are ready because Hermana Dean is coming!!! :) We love you Rachel!!!
