~~MOAB~~

We had a fun spring break getaway with the Nelson Clan to Moab!  We left Friday morning and got home Sunday Evening. There were 25 people in our crew.  Amy rented 2 three bedroom condos.  It was great fun!  We explored Goblin Valley on Friday, Saturday we spent the day in Arches (Mike and Steve actually spent the day dealing with our broken down van) stupid cars :( . Mike and Steve hooked up with us at the Sandhill outside Arches. We had an egg hunt at the condos Saturday evening, ate a spaghetti dinner and hung out and played games.  Sunday we went to church in the morning, hiked through some rivers to a waterfall and ate lunch in Moab and then headed back home to SLC.  Since our car was broken down Mike and I road home with Chambers, Jake road home with Brett and his family and Will and Sadie road home with my parents.  It was a fun getaway and spending time with my family.  As always we missed our missionaries!!

 

 

 

~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME~~

Wow!  I am now 44 years old!! I mean that is creeping up on 50 and is super weird to me. I still feel so young, CRAZY!  I had a great birthday this year.  I got my 2015 blog book woot, woot.  It is always a good feeling having another year printed in a book that we can all enjoy.  I got the sweetest card from Rachel and lots of goodies, texts, emails, phone calls from my family and friends throughout the day.  I definitely felt the love!  We went to dinner the night before with our kids to Smash Burger and then to see Batman vs Superman, the day of my birthday I went with Mike to breakfast and got pedicures and then that evening we went to Cowboy Grub for dinner.  Thanks family and friends for making this "old lady" feel the love!  Bring on the next 44 years... :)

 

 

 

~~OLYMPUS PROM~~

Jake went to Olympus High Prom a few weeks ago.  He took Abby Garriot.  He said it was a lot of fun.  For their day activity they made breakfast and went bowling and then for the evening thanks to The Bells they ran around town in a limo, ate dinner at Trio, dance at the Gateway, go cart racing and hung at Bell's afterwards.  Another dance for Jake in the books!  It is crazy to think next year he will be senior :)

 

 

 

~~6th GRADE PASSPORT~~

I had the joy of skiing with 12 6th graders, Michele Chisholm, Kay Ward, Jared Cash and Mike a few weeks ago at Park City.  Michele and I had been trying forever to get a day that we could go and take as many kids as we could that had 6th grade passports.  Luckily we finally found a day that worked and it turned out super fun!  The weather was fantastic and the kids had a great time.  It was fun to hook with Mike for a few runs since he was a host up there that day.  It's fun to see the boys and girls do something together they all love :)  The only bummer thing was literally THE LAST run of the day Hunter fell on a jump and tweaked his knee so he had to be taken off the hill in a toboggan which was quite the adventure and entertaining for the kids.  Luckily it wasn't hurt too bad that he came home and just rested it with no problems!  Now the ski season is over we are ready for SPRING :)

~~HAPPY WEDDING~~

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Perkins!  Morgan and Keaton's wedding turned out absolutely beautiful.  The weather, food, place and ceremony couldn't have been any better.  Seeing our first niece be sealed in the temple was absolutely amazing!  To feel the love in that room and the spirit was something I will always remember.  It was so sweet during the sealing Keaton had tears just streaming down his face and to see Morgan reach over and wipe them away was so sweet.  I sure love my family and these moments we get to share together!  We sure missed Rachel and Annie being there but are so grateful for the lives they are changing out on their missions! :) Man I love this gospel and I am super grateful for the knowledge that 

FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER!!! :)  Life is good!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

~~THE ROAD HOME~~

Some of our Youth and Leaders had the opportunity to serve at the Road Home Homeless shelter the first Wednesday in March.  We took some activities and did rotations for about 30 kids that are staying there.  Times like this sure make me grateful for the life we have.  We truly are blessed :) It is very humbling to see these families live in these circumstances and especially the sweet kids that don't have a choice.  Unfortunately, the activity was on a night that Olympus High basketball had a playoff game up at the U of U so we had quite of few youth missing to go to that game (which I don't blame them) but we were super grateful for those that came and made an impact on these sweet kids.  Or should I say more importantly these sweet kids made an impact on us!  These service opportunities are life changing and another reason I am grateful to be a part of this gospel that helps make these opportunities available for all of us :)
