UEA break

The kids and I were lucky enough to spend a few days up at the cabin with Grandma Ruthie over the UEA break. The weather was unbelievable it was mid to upper 70s and the leaves were gorgeous. We played lots of games, rode the 4 wheelers (we were lucky enough to spot the moose), ate lots of junk and watched a few movies. Ruthie is so fun to just hang out with. I am so glad our kids are getting to know her so well. We love you Mom =)
On Saturday of UEA break after Jake's football game we decided since the weather was high 70s again we would go to Frightmares at Lagoon. It seemed like the perfect time to do Frightmares because it was open 11:00 - 10:00 instead of just 5:00 - 10:00 like it normally is. It was so fun getting to go through all the haunted houses they have set up and get to do the rides. It was just fun to be with our little family and get to spend the day together. You can see Rachel, Jake and Will on the far right of this ride. I think the rainbow is awesome in this picture. It was so funny they got drenched. Mike and I were laughing so hard when they got off the ride. We were SOOO GLAD we chose not to get on the ride. You could seriously wring out their clothes =)We sure were spoiled with great weather the whole UEA break!!!

FALL SPORTS

Once again Soccer and Football have been taking up all of our time. The kids still enjoy playing their individual sports. Saturdays are crazy busy but we are having fun watching them play. This year I am coaching Sadie's soccer team. It has been fun to get to know those cute girls out on the soccer field. It is hard to believe that we only have a few weeks left and the fall season is over.

RACHEL - 9th grade
JAKE - 6th grade
TOUCHDOWNWILL - 4th grade
He has been playing with the Soccer Academy this year. He has learned a lot about each soccer position. I love that they let them try all of the positions out and teach them to pass the ball.
Here he is playing Goalie.
SADIE - 1st grade
Ahhhh the excitement of getting a goal. It looks like in this picture that Sadie's buddy Graice just scored a goal. I love that all of the girls get equally excited about their friends goals =)
Fall is quickly passing by.
All I can say is I AM NOT ready for SNOW =(

CYCLOCROSS

So Jake and his two buddies Ethan and Adam decided they wanted to try Cyclocross. It is an off and on road race that is held every Saturday for 12 weeks. It is pretty low key because if you can't do a race one Saturday you just go to the next one. When the boys told us they wanted to try it this fall/winter my brother in law Steve took them to Contender Bicycles. They mentioned to the owner they were thinking about racing in the Cyclocross races and the owner of Contender was so nice he gave them each matching bike jerseys that they could wear in the races.

Before the race started.
The boys stayed together the whole time.
At the finish!!!

NELSON FAMILY PICNIC

My little sister Melanie was in town for a few weeks so we tried to spend as much time as we could with her and her kids. We went up Millcreek Canyon for a picnic one Sunday. It was great fun spending time together up the canyon.
The whole Nelson Clan.
